Perth

So here goes a LONG post on the trip.

Actually our actual plan was to head to Perth, then drive down to Albany, then head to Brissie and crash at Joce's place and drive down to Gold Coast.
Its sad that it didn't all came true because Alain's car had problems and we cudnt drive to Albany and the tickets to Brissie was too expensive during that time.

So in the end, we were stuck in Perth, for one whole month!
We were lucky though,
to have a car to drive around and
awesome friends to accompany us throughout the days.

We took a ferry to the other side of Perth, where all the happenings were.
Ronald was such a super duper sweetheart throughout the whole trip.
And I really meant super.
He just has his ways with melting me over.

We went to Caversham, which was located in Whiteman's Park.
Ronald and I drove there in the hot summer breeze of precisely 40 degrees.
You could imagine how we were suffering and roasting under the hot sun.
We were using the Iphone4's gps, however, halfway through, the phone died.
I was of course ALARMED because I was responsible of reading him the directions.
We got lost for a good few minutes but managed to find the place in the end.

The donkey with the clever trick.
He opens his mouth for u to throw the feed in.

The koala sleeps 20 hours a day.
There's a weird rule to koalas, u needa stroke it softly with the back of ur hand,
else u'd actually 'stress' it out.
And they have 2 thumbs.

The camel.

We went to Molly's Farm show,
they showed us how they train the dog to run the sheep
and finally, how to milk a cow.
Ronald is a good at it. Hmm.
I tried but the cow kicked and the milk spilt all over me. Heck!

The fawns. Aww, they're just adorable aren't they?

He hasnt gotten his teeth brushed for 8 years.

We took many photos of different animals but I can't possibly upload em all.
This is the legendary owl found in 'Legend of the Guardians'.
I can't help but think he's pretty handsome for an owl.
The fur actually gives an illusion as if he's wearing a coat.

The kangaroos.
They're so well fed that they actually turn their heads away when u try to feed them.
This one is a pig though.
He follows Ronald around for food.

We spent New Years Eve in North Bridge.
Had Outback Jacks there too.
It's actually a mini sin city, with rows and rows of bars, disco's, strip club, u name it.
It was quite crazy on NYE, Ronald and I actually got separated from the rest,
and we were quite nervous with all the drunk abo's walking around without shoes.
They said if u're chased by one, don't bother to run.

Before we were reunited again,
we came across many crazy ass drama's that night.
We saw a girl with a huge piece of glass sticking out her leg, on a pool of blood.
Another girl sticking her ass out before she gets into the police car,
another girl screaming having a bitch fight
and eventually the police riding a horse scares her off,
another guy with a bleeding chin, etc etc.
To sum it all, it was totally nuts.

Ollie and I.

when everything was decent.

We had dinner at Peter's place with champagne and our home cooked crabs that we caught.
Thats Keon, Ivy, Ronald, Peter and Ollie.

I made ginger pork and mixed vege.

Peter presented butter scallops, sweet chilli crab and black pepper crab.
His wife prepared bak kut teh.

This is Burswood.
Ronald had a crazy idea of driving a helicopter,
THANKFULLY it was full on that day.
You are actually allowed to drive one with an instructor next to you.

We did a lot of shopping in Perth.
I finally got my hands on my fav Burberry.
All thanks to baby because these are all my Christmas presents.
I came back with 9 pairs of shoes,
6 pairs of pants,
3 dresses,
12 tops,
5 belts,
and a whole loada pretty cute intimates and jewelleries!

I promise I'll be good =)

So Ollie and Peter introduced us to their favorite pastime,
crabbing!
We got addicted to crabbing eventually, I didn't even wanna go home!
We usually head to Mandurah around 10, and go home around 1am.
It was addictive because all you have to do,
is to get a crab scoop, and scoop the crabs up from the sea when the tide flows them by.
However, u needa measure the appropriate mature crab size else u needa throw em back into the water.
If the crab is small u can easily get fined for 5o0 aussie each.
Its blue manna crab btw.
Good stuff.

Our catch.
15 of em.

Peter and Mia's.

A mini Vatican City, thats what Ollie calls it.
This is St Mary's Cathedral.
It's gorgeous.
I regretted not snapping more pictures of it.
This picture definitely didn't do justice.

Lyn's audi in Perth.

Burswood lobby.
We head there for brunch buffet at Carvers.
The food is great esp the panna cotta and cous cous.
Yum!

Christmas Day.
I prepared sherperds pie,
chocolate cake
and mixed berries pavlova.
There was too much to eat.
And heck too many presents!
The Christmas tree was drowned in presents.

After dinner we headed to the casino.

I prepared breakfast.
Ispa kebab inspired.
I love the HUGE purple onion, its so sweet.
But I hate the fact that chilli, garlic and ginger is so gowdamn expensive there!
We bought two garlic for 4 dollars, which is equivalent to RM12 here!
Imagine the horror.

The chocolates we bought. This is only half the portion!

We visited the Honey factory.
They breed these bees to produce a type of red gum honey for them.
We tried on tons of different types of honey infused with multiple flavors.
It was yummy!

We even get to have these honeycombs.
It wasnt as appealing as it looks though.
It leaves you with this sticky waxy candle
type of gum in your mouth after consuming it,
which of course they said its good for health.
I spit it out anyways, I cant make myself swallow that thing!

We visited the famous Margaret River chocolate factory.
It was awesome, the selection of truffles and free tasting chocolates available...

Look at that, aren't you just so tempted to pop one right into your mouth?
I was so close to buying the chilli truffle.
They said that chillies and chocolates are the perfect combo.
Hmm?

and then here comes the famous Sandalfort Winery,
well known for its unendless list of celebrity guests.
The huge plump grapes.

The oak cellar.

I picked one grape and tasted them out of curiousity.
You must've guessed how it tasted like.
SOUR!
damn sour!
We managed to taste 15 different types of wine though.
At the end of the day my best pick was the canadian ice wine.
It has always been my favorite.

After that we went to the Laughing Barrel.
It was also another winery in Swan Valley, not that famous, however.

Here, we tasted only 6 types of wines.
None of them appealed to me though.
Instead, I was addicted to the Dukkah,
a type of Egyptian spice,
that was actually served as a side dish for the wine tasting platter.

Country road.. take me home..

We visited Fremantle too.
We got there in this super hot, posh,
Hummer limousine, priced at 200 dollars per hour,
not such a cheap price for a ride, huh?

Judith and I.
This was taken at the Dragon Palace restaurant, famous for its Dim Sum.
Super nice,
and we were super full.

The giant lobsters...

and the giant snow crabs.
Look at the size of those!
HOleeeyY!

So in the evening,
the park outside our house is filled with these noisy white parrots,
which annoys the hell outta me,
but looks so angelic in flocks.
I will chase them every evening,
and Ronald would scold me for doing that,
because then he had to run for cover incase the birds poop on his head.
Once in a while he goes paranoid and says
'is there bird poop on my head? is there? is there??!'
LOL!

Cicerello's at night!
We went to the bar, with its steel factory interior,
it was pretty cool.

We went to many many beaches.
This was at Sorrento.
We also went to Fremantle beach,
Cottesloe (which was closed due to great white shark attacks),
City Beach,
Scarborough, etc.
The water was clear turquoise, almost jeweled like.
Very lovely,
but freezing cold.

This is at Hilary's Boat Harbour.
Ronald got a little obssesed,
and vows to have his own before he reaches 30.
Big dreams.

Nutcracker!

Panoramic view of the harbour.

The family park.
I had tons of ice cream.

On Sundays, we would go for Zion Praise Harvest in UWA and Curtin.
During the Christmas celebration,
guess who did I meet?
Letitia!
Its been a whole SEVEN years!

You should've seen how cool they played Feliz Navidad
on the digital instruments on individual Ipads.
Awesome.

Barrack Street.

Outside our house.
The huge field that we go for evening walks
and talks to the neighbours about dogs and children.
Haha!

London court.
A replica of Harry Potter's town.
They even have Pigeonhole.
LOL.

King's Park.
The Park with the best view of Perth City.

Swan River.
Another good place to view the city.

Jenny and JJ brought us to the famous Ciao Italia that everyone that's been to Perth says its a must try.
Okay, I rate it a good 9 out of 10 for good service and FABULOUS Italian food.
The lack of 1 was due to the tiramisu that I had.
It was good but it had too much RUM in it!
Not my type of coffee.

Chilli mussels and Fetucinni Carbonara.
It was so addictive that we went there the second
time round and ordered another 4 dishes.
A warning there though,
the food doesnt come cheap at all.

The water park in Sorrento.

Sharky's Fish and Chips.
Speaking of fish and chips,
Alain works in the restaurant and we ended up
eating fish and chips that he brought home all the time for supper.
Haha!

Cannoli from Ciao Italia. Oops, this photo shudve been up there.

Rib eye I made for Ronald for dinner.
And supper later on.
I did a lot of cooking in Perth,
merely because all the ingredients were easily obtained.
After supper we usually head to Utopia for the best milk tea.

Fremantle prison.

The daredevil.
It was a high climb.

Alain.

I cant help but notice the typography everywhere!
Its a typo frenzy in Perth.

It was an unforgettable trip.
I can't remember anything but smiles and laughter.
Nutty jokes and lotsa love.
I was so well taken care of that I put on 4 kgs!
Imagine that!
There are hundreds more photo's but for now let's just leave this post as it is,
else it would be unending.

The breakfast I prepared usually in the morning for the boyfriend.
Fruit platter

Fresh strawberry pancake with fresh homemade strawberry jam by yours truly!
I didn't manage to take pictures of the rest of the breakfast I made.
I fell sick on the 2nd day due to the drastic change of weather.
We went to many other places which some are not
camera friendly environment and thus no pictures.

But one things for sure, I really miss Perth.
I miss the people,
the lifestyle,
the food.

Ollie and Peter, Ivy, Keon, Alain, Judith, Victor, Ryan, Jenny and JJ
has been so kind and generous with their hospitality.
May God bless them.

I certainly cant wait to go over this year end again.

Dear God,
I do not want anything else,
but please continue to bless my relationship with Ronald,
my family,
his family,
and true friends.
Thank you God for your overflowing blessings.
